I have always been fascinated at how purely mechanical devices worked, and so I started playing around with the idea of an automaton, throughout the years I've designed different variations including a Cupid, bird catching worm, waving mascot, hog rider, galloping horse and more, as an environmental education volunteer, I wanted these toys to be more than just a toy, thus designing the Papilio Maraho, Taiwan's national butterfly, also endemic to Taiwan, in order to spread awareness of ecological preservation and teach people about basic mechanisms.
The automata kits Huang, Bo Shih has designed are well-liked by visiting children and adults alike, his flagship design within this series, the Papilio Maraho is great as STEAM education material, it's also easy to assemble and get a hang of, furthermore, it incorporates ecological protection, making it the most popular product here by far.
