Glass bottles are the 6th most common littered waste, after cleaning bag after bag throughout environmental cleanups over the years, I wanted to incorporate these garbage items into my works.
While messing around with my friends during one of the cleanups, we used a broken bottle as a loudspeaker, and noticed that glass bottles have excellent reverberation, with that discovery, we designed various speakers using various bottles.
This project is also part of the "Houses for Hermit Crab bilingual story book & Line social media stickers" project, where we used the speaker as an educational kit, inviting participants to bring their own upcycled bottles, and exploring how different shapes and sizes of bottles affect the sound produced.
Boss was part of our YoungVoice youth media production camp on sustainability, sometime during the camp he shared the speakers he made using glass bottles and planks we collected during one of our classes, and speakers he salvaged at home, everyone was awed by how he was able to create such a product in less than a week! Boss has been a great addition to our program and has made his impact by hosting workshops and spreading the spirit of upcycling.
